3nd (pronounced ‘sand’) is yet another in a long line of Japanese instrumental post-rock bands, their line-up featuring members of NATSUMEN and pocketlife.

It’s been a good two-and-a-half years since their excellent World Tour album so I was greatly looking forward to seeing how the quartet would build on that. I’m pleased to report that 3nd did not suffer the dreaded sophomore slump - uplifting and soothing in equal parts, we dance x avec toi is required listening for all post-rock fans.
